Dexter
was one of Orange County’s finest club bands in the 80’s and in 1986 won the very first Best Unsigned Band in America contest gathering tons of attention and reviews….however one year later they were still unsigned and the group split up.  Prior to that however, Trevor Rabin from the super group YES, had heard one of their tapes their manager, Steven McClintock, had submitted and came into the Warehouse to see them play.  Impressed, he took Mark Mancina, the keyboardist on his next world wide tour ultimately ending up with Mark producing the song “Miracle of Life” and taking the CD gold for Arista Records.  All 4 members current make a living playing music and their music is still as viable today as it was 21 years ago….

Dexter:  Mark Mancina, Doug Smith, Steve D’Stanislo, and Barry Hovis
