Tom Templeman is a veteran indie songwriter and artist, whose career includes writing and performing in both country and rock genres. "Tom has more energy and enthusiasm for songwriting than anyone I have seen in years," says Steven McClintock, co-owner of McJames Music/37 Records. "His ability to cut a melody is second to none." His latest CD, Mercy Road, was released in August 2004, receiving great reviews and expanding Tom's fan base. Tom has had a number of indie rock and country cuts during his writing career. Since arriving in Nashville, Tom has added additional cuts to his resume with indie artists Christian Bradley, Shelby Horner, Rusty Gordon, Charlie Baker, Ashlee Graham, Darby Ledbetter and Mark Stephen Jones. One of his songs, She Loves to Fish was used for several years as a segment theme song for Western Fishing and Boating Radio, a weekly fishing show broadcast across the western states. Recently, a collaboration with Karen Keeley, Mary Francis and Lorna Flowers titled Having a Good Day received extensive spot airplay for a frequently-run series of commercials on 95.5FM – The Wolf, Nashville's largest country station. Tom's writing style blends rock and country roots for a fresh, appealing sound, perfect for today's country. Among Tom's noteworthy co-writers on the new CD are friend/mentor Steven McClintock (Burning (I Still Burn), Lean On Me Awhile, Good Boy Gone Bad) and Marc-Alan Barnette, who shares credit on the title cut Mercy Road. In the past couple of years, Tom has been writing with Mary Francis (Dixie Chicks, Reba McIntyre, Highway 101), longtime friend & artist Ashlee Graham, Charlie Baker, Darby Ledbetter, CJ Watson, Lorna Flowers, Mark Stephen Jones, Shelby Horner, Sam Cooper, and a host of other hardworking singer/songwriters around Music City. In addition, Tom performs as a guitarist for artist Shelby Horner as part of Shelby's band, the Next Exit
